Last night Some Guys Are Bigger Than Others made it’s New York debut at the 11th NYC Downtown Short Film Festival, and what a night it was! “Some Guys” ended up taking home the best comedy award, woo hoo! Screening at the Duo Multicultural Arts Center in the East Village, the event was a success and the audience laughed at all the right moments. It was an intimate space that offered festival goers wine throughout the screenings, nice. Along side “Some Guys” was 2 animated shorts, 3 dramas and another comedy that all had good flow from one film to another. These films were picked through the audience voting them in.
“Over 4,000 films were submitted and voted on through audience choice screenings and I feel the audience got it right” – Michelangelo Alasa, Festival Director
We confirmed that director Geoff Celis was working in New Orleans on the Impractical Jokers show (on that work hustle flow), while other reports came in confirmed that members of the cast were also working, but on a boat called Lilac. They were certainly missed, but we did represent. Actor Michaelangelo Muñiz, editor Mike Rizzo and producer Tina Henry were there to show support and talk about the film.
